Recently W. Bro Graham Allen and W. Bro Chris Wadsworth made a visit to Mind Plymouth & District to present a cheque for £ 500.
The money was raised by the members of the Masonic Lodge of St Simon who meet at the Queen Victoria Masonic Hall, St. Budeaux, Plymouth, as a result of monies raised when they held their ladies night at the Copthorne hotel Plymouth.
A Ladies Night is when Freemasons thank their Wives and Partners for allowing them out throughout the year when they hold their meetings, on this occasion as in previous years, everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
Mind is a mental health charity in Plymouth that wants to raise public awareness of mental health issues, as well as to provide appropriate community services for people with mental health problems, to complement statutory mental health and social services departments.
We were met by the CEO Olivia Craig who was very excited and grateful for the donation which is to be used to refurbish a spare room at the rear of the building.
Mind are very thrifty with their money and Olivia said they will probably trawl a very well-known auction site for the furniture etc. that they need.
