Conciliation Lodge No.3483 in Holsworthy recently held a reception to make cheque donations to ten local worthwhile causes.
Freemasonry worldwide this year celebrated 300 years of existence and to mark this very special tercentenary anniversary, Conciliation Lodge donated £300 to each local organisation who are all based in Holsworthy. They were….
- Rural transport,
- pre-school playgroup,
- primary school,
- youth centre,
- scout group,
- gymnastics club,
- junior cricket club,
- army cadets,
- talking tapes and
- volunteer bureau.
All the representatives of the groups were welcomed into the lodge where it was explained that Freemasonry is only second to the National Lottery in giving charitable donations to worthwhile causes in the UK, and Conciliation Lodge was equally delighted to be able to assist local charities in this community.
Each organisation was presented with their cheques on behalf of the members, by the current master of the lodge, Werner Lothmann and the charity steward Richard Feather.
After the presentation and when photographs were duly taken to record this special ocassion all organisations were invited to join the members for a buffet in the lodge dining room.
