W.Bro Steve Kennard, a member of Pere Mare Per Terram Lodge Exmouth and Brent Holy Royal Arch Chapter, Topsham has been appointed as District Deputy Grand Master for Phoenix District, Alberta, Canada.
Steve immigrated to Vancouver soon after leaving the Royal Marines before settling in Calgary where he became a joining member of a Lodge very soon after. His appointment is even more remarkable as to attain this high office you have to be elected by the Brethren of the District. He went through two rounds of voting and won by a sizable majority.
"I was very humbled to be elected to be the District Deputy Grand Master for Phoenix District at the meeting in September of 2016. Yesterday MW Bro. Gordon Berard was installed as the Grand Master of Alberta Freemasons along with his officers for the 2017-2018 year. I was installed as the District Deputy Grand Master for Phoenix District, I am looking forward to this term of service. I have some big shoes to fill, thank your for your service RW. Bro. Roger Matas"
