On Tuesday 5th April our Provincial Grand Master the Rt. W. Bro Ian Kingsbury accompanied by his wife Toni and W. Bro. Barry White the Provincial Grand Charity Steward visited the offices of Devon Air Ambulance in Exeter, they can be seen here with Tracy Owen and Ambrose the Air Ambulance Mascot when he presented them with a cheque on behalf of the Freemasons Grand Charity for £4,000.
This makes a total of £47,000 presented by the Freemasons Grand Charity since 2007 and over £105,000 when adding presentations made by individual lodges throughout Devonshire in the same period.
Rt. W. Bro. Ian Kingsbury said he was delighted to be continuing the donations given by the Freemasons creating a continuing and valuable link between our organisations. He is proud to be part of an organisation which helped to support air ambulance services throughout the country. Without ours and many other supporters of these vital services many more lives would be at risk.
Sarah Burden and Tracy Owen from Devon Air Ambulance told us that it costs around £5.5 million each year to maintain this valuable service. This year, the Charity will commence night flight, by extending operational hours to midnight from this autumn forward. The Charity is delighted to have received continual generous support from the Freemasons of the Province of Devonshire and the Grand Charity.
