During his year as master W. Bro Steve Baker the now Past Master of the Lodge of Hope who meet at St. Aubyns Masonic Hall Plymouth together with W.Bro. Steve Ladlow, Charity Steward and W. Bro. Steve Elston who is the current Worshipful Master invited five special guests to their Lodge meeting recently.
When he was in the chair of King Solomon, as master of the lodge, W. Bro Steve had nominated five very worthy charities for their Brethren to support as part of their annual giving to Devon based Charities. They were The Chestnut Appeal, Children’s Hospice Southwest, Sense Deafblind Support, the Polio Fellowship & Routeways/Becky Centre, all these charities have been close to Steve’s heart and he felt it was good to support them in this way.
The charity members had all been invited to attend a dinner after which they were all presented with a cheque, they were then invited to give a short lecture describing the very valuable work of their individual charity, all the representatives said how grateful they were to have received such magnificent cheques which will help them continue their work and thanked the Brethren of the lodge for their generosity.
After the meal ended the assembled group were entertained in a magnificent manner by the Great Devon Choir.
W. Bro. Steve said...
charity was at the heart of all freemasons and they were very happy to help in any way they could.
