When the owner of A & M Doors who is also a member of the Courtland Lodge of Freemasons who meet in Paignton went to inspect damage caused to an outside security door to the wheelchair store of the Cheshire Homes Douglas House in Brixham he found it had been caused by vandals. Knowing of the good work done by the Leonard Cheshire charity, W. Bro. Andy Dewis immediately returned to discuss the situation with the members of his lodge to see what could be done to help.
Without hesitation they all agreed to help fund a replacement electric roller door which would be much more secure thus enabling Douglas House to keep their vital equipment safe at no cost to themselves.
Since this work has been carried out we are pleased to say there has been no re-occurrence of damage to the door or the wheelchairs stored behind them.
