honiton show 02The Provincial Grand Master and W.Bro Gale, APGM,  joined the Membership Team at the Honiton Show, which is always the last show of the team's season.

The team spoke to 810 people, promoting Freemasonry, bringing the year's total to 2071. This isn’t bad considering that the Mid Devon Show was marred by torrential rain and they had to pull out of the Totnes Show due to severe weather warnings.

As always it was good to meet Brethren from all over the Country from Cornwall to Wick.

The team also enjoyed a short visit from Maureen Scott the Life President and Chairperson of the Topsham and Exeter Masonic Widows Association.

The eagle eyed amongst you will have seen the team's tent on Spotlight this evening, where W.Bro’s Summers, Taylor, Goode and Lewis can just be seen talking to the public (but you have to freeze frame to see them).

If you look closely at the attached photos you will see the Devon and Cornwall Police Dog (mascot) sporting a team sticker (they allowed it to be put on).

As this years show season closes I think it’s important that we thank our back room support team. Our Secretary John Pritchard, our outgoing H&S Rep, Brian Holmes, Chris Potter who stores the teams kit all year and our show manager who books all the shows for us.

We would like to remind you all that the team has equipment that Lodges can borrow for open days or white table events and of course the team is always willing to help on these occasions.

After visiting the team the Provincial Grand Master went on to present the prizes at the Mountain and Moorland Riding Class. The class was won by Paula Whitlock, riding Bodyns Kaino, who is seen below being presented with the Devon Freemasons Cup by the Provincial Grand Master.
