On the 16th of April the ‘Devonshire Masonic Choir’ had the privilege of singing two numbers at the Devon Provincial Grand Lodge meeting - Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) and The Beatles ‘Yesterday’. We have been rehearsing these and other songs at the South Brent Masonic Hall every Monday Evening from 7pm to 9pm.

At the hands of our musical director Barrington Sowden, we are put through our paces in a very friendly and enthusiastic manor, and our abilities as a choir has come on in leaps and bounds over this last 12 months.

The Right Worshipful Brother Ian Kingbury, The Provincial Grand Master, introduced the Devonshire Masonic Choir and was very pleased with our performance and told me that he hopes to see us perform at many more Masonic events.

From September the choir will begin rehearsals for the festive season. In December we will be performing Christmas Carols at Exeter Cathedral for the Masonic Carol Service as well as other venues to be confirmed.
