Widows Sons run Plymouth 10k Bro Mark Hart, a member of St Aubyn Lodge No 954 and Widow’s Sons Masonic Bikers Association traded his bike boots and leathers for his shorts and trainers to take part in the Plymouth 10k run on 8 October. He was part of a 6 strong team of men and women running for Team Lidl. Bro Mark is on the left of the photograph.

Their aim was to raise £500, but together they raised £895 for their chosen charity, Action Duchenne, which helps to fund the research into a cure for muscular dystrophy. They were inspired to take part because a friend has two sons with the condition.

The whole team completed the event with times ranging from 56 minutes to one hour five minutes, a very creditable effort. It was Mark’s first sponsored run since he left the armed forces and also his first Plymouth 10k.

Well done to Mark and his team for achieving well above their target and proving that motorcyclists do have a life without a bike!
