The 10th of June, 2017, was the installation meeting of the Royal Marines Plymouth Lodge No.9528, which was well attended. The installation went well but it also had a little surprise in the form of an appointment in the field, so as to speak.
RW Bro Ian Kingsbury, Provinicial Grand Master of Devonshire, appointed W Bro Mark Ormrod to the office of Past provincial Grand Steward in recognition for all that he has done for Freemasonry.
W Bro Mark Ormrod was a victim of an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) some 10 years ago, loosing both legs and his right arm. Mark has not let his disability prevent him from enjoying life and he has been selected to participate in the Invictus Games. Mark has also been involved in other external events to give motivational talks and thoroughly enjoys his Freemasonry.
Freemasonry takes good men and makes them better and W Bro Mark Ormrod is a great example of that and should be an inspiration to us all.
