I had arranged to meet the Grand Secretary of Japan MW Bro Phillip Ambrose at Grand Lodge in Tokyo on the 30th March. I was greeted at the entrance by MW Bro Ambrose's Secretary who kindly gave me a tour of the building including the two temples; a blue temple for craft meetings and a red temple for the Holy Royal Arch Chapter (and also The Rose Croix). After the very interesting tour I was introduced to MW Phillip Ambrose and also the current Grandmaster of Japan MW Bro Shinya Takeda. The Grand Master was interested to discuss the craft in England and said he hoped to meet up again at The Royal Albert Hall when he attends the Tercentenary Celebrations in October.

After note: Even though permision for a visit overseas should always be sought through the Provincial Grand Secretary, unusually Japanese Masonic conventions permit that direct contact with the Masonic authorities in Japan can only be made once a brother arrives there, but not before and that Grand Lodge certificates will always need to be presented..
