On Wednesday, 20th December 2016 I visited the Dart Lodge No 2641 to present a 50 year service certificate on behalf of our Provincial Grand Master to Worshipful Brother Peter Eric Bradley PPrJGW and spoke in great detail about his 50 years of service to our order and also about his family life.
Peter was initiated into Lodge of Perseverance No 4622 in Warwickshire on 17th December 1966 which was a very special occasion for him being proposed by his father Worshiful Brother Eric Bradley and seconded by his grandfather Worshipful Brother Frank Bradley who were both present at his initiation.
Peter served in the Birmingham City Police for 32 1/2 years retiring to live near Dartmouth and becoming a joining member of the Dart Lodge No 2641 in February 1993. Peter has become a great asset to the Lodge and indeed to Freemasonry in general. In our Province he was a founder member of the Noontide Lodge No 9720 and is now their chaplain and is also a member of Pleiades Chapter No 710 and Pleiades Rose Croix No 1113. Peter was so pleased his brother Robert could be present to join in the celebrations and the Worshipful Master of Lodge of Perseverance No 4622 also travelled from Warwickshire to join us. Worshipful Brother Derek read a letter he had received from the Provincial Grand Master of Warwickshire, Right Worshipful Brother David Francis Macey, congratulating Peter on this wonderful achievement. In presenting the certificate worshipful Brother Derek also brought the best wishes and congratulations of our Provincial Grand Master Right Worshipful Brother Ian Kingsbury. The brethren responded with loud applause and Worshipful Brother Peter thanked worshipful Brother Derek for the very fine manner in which he had researched the presentation. Everyone then retired for an excellent festive board ending yet again another happy Masonic evening.
