W Bro Hesketh presents cheque to stroke unitPictured is W.Bro Martin Heskins presenting a cheque for £250 to the League of Friends of Ottery St. Mary Hospital Stroke Unit on behalf of St. Margaret’s Lodge No. 6128 Topsham.
Following a protracted stay in the Unit by W.Bro Martin Heskins’ father, Gerald, the members of St. Margaret’s Lodge decided to make a donation to the Units League of Friends to help with the excellent work carried out there.

The donation - already earmarked to refurbish an electric powered wheel chair – was presented to Staff Nurse Clare Harper and League of Friends Chairman Adrian Rutter.
The Unit serves the East Devon area and is so busy that there are never any empty beds, such is the need for the expertise of the nursing staff and Occupational Therapists.

Adrian Rutter - "Like everyone in and around the town, the Ottery Hospital League of Friends is very worried about the future of our local hospital with its modern, purpose-built facilities, wonderful staff and demonstrated high quality of care. However, we are delighted at this opportunity to help support the invaluable contribution the Ottery Stroke Unit is making for the people of the whole of East Devon.”
