You are to be congratulated on being Initiated into the world wide Brotherhood of Freemasonry. This leaflet is designed to help you understand our Order. Some 14,000 men join English Freemasonry every year. Find out why.

Congratulations on being passed to the Degree of a Fellowcraft. During the ceremony you were told that you are now in the midway of Freemasonry. However before the second quarter of the 18th century there were only two degrees in Freemasonry the Entered Apprentice and the Fellowcraft (also known in Europe as the Fellow of the Craft,) and it was from the Fellowcraft thatthe Master was elected having first served as a Warden. These days we now have three degrees.

As a new Master Mason it is hoped that you will wish, in a short while, to start on your progression within your Lodge, culminating with your installation as Worshipful Master. To be installed as Worshipful Master of his Lodge, is the pinnacle of a man's Masonic career. But for the moment, you would be well advised to remember the motto of Grand Lodge ‘Audi, Vide, Tace’ meaning ‘Watch, Learn and Listen’ for these are key words not only for newly made masons, but for us all.
